Blu‑Jay Bridges was created by Danielle Quick—an educator and parent who understands how much thoughtful support can matter, both inside and outside the classroom.
Meet Danielle
Nearly 12 years in District 75 education
Danielle began her career as a paraprofessional before becoming a special education teacher. Working in both roles has given her a valuable perspective on the teamwork, flexibility, and care it takes to support students throughout the school day.
She holds certifications in Special Education for All Grades and General Education for Grades 1–6, as well as a Master of Science in Education from Bank Street College of Education.
The personal connection
The meaning behind Blu‑Jay Bridges
Danielle is also the parent of an autistic child. The name Blu‑Jay Bridges reflects that personal connection: “Blu” honors autism awareness, and “Jay” honors her son, Jason—the heart behind the bridge.
Her experience as both an educator and a parent shapes a simple belief: learners deserve materials that recognize their strengths, respect their needs, and help them participate with confidence.
